LAG Napoca Porolissum Territory

The territory of the LAG Napoca Porolissum comprises: 13 communes – Aghireşu, Beliş, Călăţele, Căpuşu Mare, Gilău, Izvoru Crişului, Măguri-Răcătău, Mănăstireni, Mărgău, Mărişel, Rîşca, Săcuieu, Sâncraiu and the city – Huedin. It total, 1,614.14km2, 44,381 inhabitants, with a population density of 27.49/km2.

The Potential of the LAG Napoca Porolissum Territory in Terms of Gastronomic Tourism

The territory has a rich tourist potential, we have to mention the Fântânele area that holds the status of tourist resort or the 10 ATUs that have a high concentration of tourist resources, from the point of view of landscaping, recreation and less of the material heritage, owning monuments and sites of national and local interest. It is also highlighted by 26 festivals in the territory.

There are also distinctive elements in terms of musical and choreographic folklore, specific crafts, local customs, folk costumes, food, and local linguistic elements.

From a gastronomic point of view, gradually, after the 1990s, and especially after the 2000s, gastronomy has experienced a significant development. And it has done that by starting timidly to recognize itself as a service within the tourist packages, and us afterwards being able to speak of real gastronomic touristic destinations.

The Transylvanian area was culturally subjected to a series of influences, coming from the people under whose rule it has been throughout history. Thus, the gastronomic culture was influenced by this phenomenon and that is the reason why it is extremely diverse, taking over the influences of the Austro-Hungarian and Slavic cuisine, and to a lesser extent French, Italian and even Greek.

In the LAG territory, pork and poultry meat are mainly consumed, beef and fish meat being consumed less often, and regarding spices, the emphasis is on paprika, cumin and thyme and pepper. Pork dishes are the basis of traditional.
